Well, it wasn't meant for you to see
btw the spider in my photo is a Huntsman, I think the spider in your photo is just a common Orb spider

Yikes, Olivia! That's a biggie!
I can't help looking, like the old Carlin joke about the car wreck, you just have to look, that's the way we humans are.
I'm just so glad I haven't found anything that big in my house yet, knock wood...
Best wishes for many sales to all,
Hi, that is not one that I am immediately familiar with but, I did find this photo on the net of WA spiders which appears to be the same type.
Unfortunately, the reference didn't give a name.
But from a little bit of research, it may well be called a Wolf spider?
Olivia's photo is definitely a Huntsman. (very common here)
Thank you Allen - the spider is no more. Certainly gave my son a fright, though !
I can well imagine, spiders give me the willies, even small ones. Don't get me started on the big guys you find in garden webs, the writing spiders, they're too creepy for words, though I prefer the web kind to the non web builders as they tend to stick around the web and not wander everywhere.
Best wishes for mnay sales to all,
