Then it was time to make our way past the fountain
& head off to the beach...
eyes left....
eyes right.... and what did we see! Dead-heading the palms!
Never thought that palms would need dead-heading!
.
The highlight of the day for penguin was finding this escalator back up from the beach to the town, what a brilliant idea!

Squirrel has just asked me to post the next bit so that she can finish off our trip on this thread.... I am deeply suspicious of this... I suspect she has something other than fruit in her pouches....
Okay, so the last day of our trip was a return to all the local places we had been to - including the old town where we heard what sounded like a choir singing so we went to investigate.
It was the local people down on the beach singing their hearts out and finishing with holding hands in a circle singing their last song. Then they just dispersed - a bit like a flash mob would do, but it wasn't a flash mob....
Okay folks, that's it from me for this trip. Hope you've enjoyed it.
I'm now sitting here with baited breath waiting to see what Squirrel does for a grand finale!
Further along the beach was a mini-gym for anyone to use - it was very tiring watching them
and finally a last fond look at a road leading up to our apartment - not a troublesome incline for a skittering squirrel, but for a short legged waddling penguin there was a necessity to immediately dash into the loo every time we got back ...... for this reason squirrel renamed the road 'Bladder Hill'
Cheerio folks, till next time
Thank you for sharing your holiday adventures, it was a very interesting visual trip for me to a place I have never visited.
Give yourselves some pilchards and hazelnuts as a reward, if not available then have a nice glass of wine each

Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it is about learning to dance in the rain.
