Default Tesco and Post Office, a double blow!

The Tesco in our shopping centre is to close on April 4th with a loss of over 110 jobs.
The Post Office will have to close too because it is based insdside Tesco.

This trend of basing P.O. inside shops is a bit flawed when things like this happen.
This P.O. was once a busy stand alone main office, got closed and moved into W H Smith which closed, now it needs to re-locate again.

I'd like to see a Post Office in one of the supermarkets around here.

Our Post office is about to relocate, probably into another shop.

A combination of the tax discs & TV license changes and people paying for their postage through paypal (and thinking they are saving our sub-post office "trouble") have made it unviable.

You are so right Madelaine, i never use paypal postage unless I am desperate, i think I have used it twice to catch a mail pick up from the postbox.

Our Tesco is going too :-( (mid march)
Hoping all the staff can / will be relocated buts it is 'where'??. Some don't have their own car so when they say Branch X is only 20 mins away NOT via public transport! Many staff can walk to their job at this one, so no longer.
So those that cannot be relocated they will loose their jobs :-( Others had been planning to apply there when the rime was right too.
The post office is separate and that is going (mid march) try and avoid using that one as they are a nightmare... but not good for as all then a 3 hour round trip :-( so not good for anyone!

Cross fingers unlike Woolworths, Clintons and others most will still have a job with Tesco but the news said lots of office staff also going...
Our general listings page - anything that you may have seen elsewhere, that is not yet listed, happy to set up the listing :-)

Here's a list of 43 Tesco stores that are closing. There's also a list of 49 planned new Tesco's that have now been scrapped.

Surprised we're not losing any of ours. As well as a Tesco Extra in West Thurrock, about 4-5 miles away, we also have a Tesco Express a few minutes walk away and another, with petrol station about half an hour walk away (both within about 1 mile). Not that we use any of them much, prefer to shop at Lidl (few minutes walk) or Aldi (short drive).

Honest, reliable seller looking for honest, reliable buyers.

Seem to recall that not long ago Tesco were getting a lot of flak when opening stores - with some even being torched.

The Grantham one closed down years ago (back in the 70s I think) after not existing for very long. We have an Express on the outskirts, which I am surprised is not on the list as it can't do much trade.
