Questions on views

A couple of questions on Views.

I'm selling adult magazines with pricing & shipping very reasonable. I do sell these readily on more costly sites.

On eBid I've had numerous views, but no sales. I've recently set up google analytics and ALL of my latest views have originated in RUSSIA. ( I'm listing from the US on WHATS LEFT/Adult Magazines/dreamgirlmags). From RUSSIA???

Also, how often are views refreshed or is that something I have control over.

Hi and welcome to eBid.

From what I've read, the eBid view counter isn't particularly accurate when it comes to number of views. When you end/relist an item the view counter can be reset.

Not sure what's up with Russia, it may be bots that are viewing your items, or maybe they just like the content.

Isn't odd that the only views are from Russia?

I doubt that only Russians would have interest in the product category.

Is there something I've missed in my account/store setup?

Hi newh103. I closed all my listings and I'm doing a major revamp again. A lot of my listings are being deleted. I have been undecided about whether I want to sell online anymore, but have decided that I'll change my strategy again and I've just started some listings in the past few days. But, my shops are still on vacation.

According to the view counters, there are some views, but as you said, according to Google Analytics, the only views are from Russia. My own views aren't showing on Google Analytics, like they used to.

I don't have a clue what that is about.

As Sue wrote, I don't think that the view counters on eBid have ever been particularly accurate, and I think that bots tend to create some of the views. Not that I know a lot about that.

There are a few forum members who are very knowledgeable about Google Analytics. Maybe one of them will be willing to shed some light on the subject for us. :-)

The Russian visits are referral spam - anyone using Google Analytics on any website will likely to be showing visits from Moscow or Samara Oblast. Technically they are not visits at all as the landing page is non existent.

Ignore them and don't visit the supposed referral site.
