My thanks to Moonie for her time, effort, and good intentions for posting this thread. I am obviously from the USA, saw the thread, and voted. No one is perfect in dotting every i or crossing every t, including Moonie.

My thanks also to Gill for simply acknowledging that there is a place "across the pond" (USA). In all honesty, I would have preferred if the process had been done in a more private manner before going public.

My chief issue with the poll was there was no provision to select more than one person. So I selected Meebo. I also wanted to select Cornishmaid. They both are long term stalwart supporters of YDC.

I would also just like to say that as a USA YDC participant (buyer & seller), that my personal level of activity has tapered off, particularly more recently. I for one preferred YDC when it had the two arms of UK and USA. The two are not one, there are distinctions, differences, and that is alright. There is however a oneness for all YDC participants, and that is the support given to worthy charities by generous eBid YDCers.

So, what has been done, is done. So make the best of it.

burgy, when a US seller wins we support them wholeheartedly, but i'm not sure what you mean by two arms.
I would also like to say that not only the US but Canada and occasionally Australian bidders take part

Penni, I am fully aware of the support given by the UK to USA sellers that win in YDC charity competition. When I won the competitions, I was always impressed by the support shown to my selected charity by UK and other involved nations. I also have fully supported UK/other involved nations chosen charity through bidding, buying, or donating to the charity.

The two arms of YDC, involved the UK and USA simultaneous charity competitions, that were in operation, until it was decided there was no need for the two charity competition arms. YDC during the time of that structure of operation was more active in general, and had far more USA participants involved. I for one miss that level of activity.

OOPS!...I thought I had set this up so voters could pick more than one person to vote for so I have added another vote for Cornishmaid to my pen and paper list made up from votes via pm.

Not need to be sorry. It was some time ago, and many YDC participants probably are not aware of that structure. It was fun trying to see which side would win; but the charities supported on all sides benefited.

If the thought is that YDC should be separated between UK and USA then it should apply to all the other countries involved.

All in one pot I say, I don't care where your from or who 'wins' - in my mind we are altogether doing a great job advocating charities for a worthy cause from around the world.

YDC is for everyone who is interested and you are not forced to represent the chosen charity for any particular month, you can use whatever charity you wish, it is only the winner of any particular month who makes a wish that their chosen charity will be supported, it is up to you whether you do so or not, you won't be thought of any less or more than any other member.

YDC is an approved eBid activity run with strict guidelines and anyone is welcome to participate and select your own beloved charity if you don't want to use the chosen one.

In the end, all charities that are selected around the world, will benefit from our achievements.

Well done to everyone - Luv you all!
