eBid done away with them, sellers can no longer pin to eBid boards.
They've been replaced with "Inspiration" boards http://www.pinterest.com/ebidnet/
BUT the Charity Auctions group board is still there - http://www.pinterest.com/ebidnet/cha...tions-on-ebid/
You can't pin to them anymore only the charity one
Streuth! As if selling wasn't hard enough already.
Which bright spark decided that?
The only reason I can think of is they are cost prohibitive for eBid. Perhaps the Inspiration Boards are free or less cost prohibitive. I do not get the impression that eBid is pleased with having this happen.
My largest concern is that we can not post to the boards; only eBid can do this. So eBid is selecting seller(s) items that will be featured on their pinterest boards. I had some concerns about that before (visibility), about what I saw on Pinterest and via eBid search here.
But a seller can have their own boards. I need to look into the Pinterest issue when I have more time.
Pinterest is FREE.
I personally like the way it is now - the eBid board needs to be effective for eBid and a seller needs their own board to be effective along the lines of the items they sell. Under the old system neither was being achieved - I certainly didn't bother posting to the eBid boards because I didn't see any benefit in doing so.
On your own Pinterest boards you can effectively target relevant customers quite easily - something eBid could not do. eBid should target their own audience - easy for them to do and yet something they are still not doing. Baffles the hell out of me why they don't
I have my own Pinterest board. I'm not sure how well it is serving me though.
