What is a computer package?

I dont know much about PC's as you can tell LOL

But if someone asked you what computer packages you had used, do they mean things like word, excel & access or do they mean windows or mozilla for instance? Or is it something completely different? LOL

I think the person should have said whether they mean hardware or software packages...personally, I never buy a computer package which would mean a collection of hardware and selection of software...

What was the context you were being asked this in? (My grammar's terrible tonight, do apologise...)

Normally, in an interview or similar, they would mean software, this could be, as you say, Excel, or Mozilla,or anything else, but you wouldn't normally bother mentioning Windows, as that's taken as a given. If you use anything unusual, like Linux though, that's always worth mentioning.
