Many thanks Mick
It probably depends on the user. Both are available, but my guess is that paypal is the more preferred one.......look around at some sellers here on the forums and see what they offer.

Hi, Paypal for me, have used it for years. Never had a buyer ask for the other electronic options, I do accept UK cheques, PO or cash but for overseas it has to be paypal.
It may be worth adding another electronic payment system as I know paypal do have problems now and again, but not sure how good and reliable they are and how easy to set up. Can anyone recommend one?
Sat and watched the sun go down right at the far end of Cleveleys on Sunday evening- first time we had seen it for months!!!

As far as I know Paypal is popular with U.S. buyers and sellers, not sure about international buyers and sellers. Don't know much about PPPay I'm afraid, though I agree with Blue, using more payment methods gives buyers more options which can't be bad.
Best wishes for many sales to all,
Interesting.. we come here to get away from Ebay yet most use a payment system that Ebay own...Paypal
I agree with as many options as possible, will be using pp for the first time soon. I used to offer Google Checkout, Bank puTransfer, Cheque and un-used UK postage stamps.
I have not used PPPAY myself but am put off by the number of people who have problems with it and the fact that it has no suppport contacts. Also it has a very limited geographic reach (America and most of Europe are not included). I have discounted Nochex and Skrill from my plans as very few people seem to use them; which can be a problem (Nochex shuts the account if not used f)r a year and Skrill
charge for inactive accounts).
I am sure most people would use options other than PP if viable options could be found.

Yes, it is interesting. I accept Paypal and Money Orders now. In the past accepted Paypal, Google Check Out, Moneybookers/Skrill, Checks, Money Orders. All of the prior listed payment systems not on the "Now" list have caused me problems in some way or other. Paypal has also, but they seem to be the least problematic for me.
As far as many coming here to escape eBay, well I understand that, as also used to be a Bay seller/buyer. But the cold hard fact of the matter is, that if you do not accept Paypal, you really limit your sales, as most buyers prefer it, including me.
On eBid you have tons of non-integrated payment options available.....like cash, chocolate, stamps, exchange, etc. The list is unlimited, whereas eBay's payment options are quite limited (Paypal). So you can choose to not accept Paypal, and some sellers do just that. I offer discounts to buyers who do not pay with Paypal, and combined shipping discounts. So seller choice is available.
I used to use pppay and paypal but only 2 people ever brought an item off me using pppay so i have since removed it as an option and introduced skrill instead
I found pppay more trouble then its worth especially with the waiting times transferring the funds back to my bank account. lack of customer information etc
I always like to check the buyers details here on ebid against the address on paypal but this is not possible on pppay as there is no customer information to view.
I also do direct payment and a few customers pay with cheques
sadly pppay is a waste of time in my experience
Sincerely Martin
I use whatever nthe buyer wants to pay by. I can also accept payments by Text message
