No internet site that allows members to sell on it will ever be 100% free of scammers but ebid has more protection for buyers than ebay.
Ebay has no buyer protection, they cancelled it a couple of years ago and now rely on paypal's buyer protection. Paypal's buyer protection applies equally to all payments regardless of the site the sale was made on.
So, assuming the buyer uses a safe method to pay - paypal, visa debit/credit card (or any other credit card for purchases over £100) they can claim through their payment method.
The reason i say ebid has better buyer protection than ebay is that they deal with problem sellers a lot faster than ebay
does.
Unfortunately, you will always get people who don't do their homework, take ridiculous risks and then blame the venue for their own stupidity.
