June 1964 my Grammar School in Belper sent me off on a course for 1 week at Derby Technical College to learn about programming computers, it was Fortran. I didn't get to see and touch an actual computer for another 5 years, and that was Kimberley Clark's pre-transistor main-frame computer in Larkfield Kent, in a huge building mainly filled with refridgeration for the valves.
Meanwhile in summer 1967 however, in a building in central London, I did have a job filing and interpreting punch cards used for feeding information into a mainframe I never saw.
