how to put movies on a usb stick to play on a t.v help please

ok guys i had the usb stick formatted to the pc dropped and dragged 2 films on it which did work in my dvd player and on my sons x360 but it didn't work on the finlux t.v where it's supposed to work could the t.v be faulty

I cannot play media from the USB device on my TV?

Check to ensure that your USB device is fully connected and your TV recognises the USB device. If you can access the USB device on the TV, try playing either an *.MP3 or a *.JPG file. If your TV plays these files then your TV is fine, it may be that your media type is not compatible with the TV. You can check the list of compatible media types at the rear of their instruction manual. Please note that the sound and picture must be encoded in a compatible format.

hi guys me and my dad both have a t.v that records onto a usb stick what we're having problems with is putting a film onto another usb stick to play onto our t.vs though i haven't tried my one yet my dad doesn't know what format to convert a film so it will play and to be honest i have no idea so anyone know please keep it simple thanks

dads is a finlux and mine is a cello both 32 hd ready with freeview and dvd player in it if this information is needed.

sorry if i'm not clear i want to put a movie on from the computer to watch on a usb that will play on the t.v models said thanks.

it says on the finlux about mpeg1s and such no idea what that means normally use convertxtodvd4 and i have a couple of free converts just need the t.vs to recognise that there are films on it and play thanks

Why would you want to? Surely a HDMI lead direct from Computer to TV is easier?
