In my experience the maps fulfilled no function: my location at one time was on the wrong side of a motorway miles away from where I live; (not even in the first 2 digits of the post code.
Added to which if they had been as accurate as they should have been it would have compromised people's privacy. (Do you really want just anyone who browses the site to know EXACTLY where you live, bearing in mind that there is a vacations notice option on the site? Not a good combination in my view.

I'm not bothered about the maps, I don't miss them. It was a waste of space anyway (IMHO)
Is it creating another space? I'm no computer genius but as I see it there's no extra space to create. The clickable shop banners are already on the right of the page eBid would only need to extend the area across the screen.,Originally Posted by bluebedouin;1592073[COLOR=#FF0000
Lets say the banners were put side-to-side and another clickable banner was added (6 banners in total)
SHOP BANNER1...SHOP BANNER2...SHOP BANNER3
SHOP BANNER4...SHOP BANNER5...SHOP BANNER 6
.................................................. ...........................possibly clickable for buddy points
Banners 3 and 6 are still in the space where the shop banners are now. Banners 1, 2, 4 and 5 would be taking up the space where the map used to be.
Are you saying this would entail back-end re-design?

Any other suggestions for the wasted white space in case my suggestion is not doable?
