My cousin and his partner only drove up to the Lake District from London last night - via the M6 ! Took them over 10 hours.
Sleet and snow here this morning - and it's cold

I am here pos but not happy, been round the back to look at the roof and there is a hole equivalent to 42 tiles off as each one of the tiles they put on the new roof is equivalent to 6, The roof is about 4 years old and they have had to repair it 4 times up to now, this is the worst. Why me again everyone elses roof is okay but mine, i feel like jumping off the pier, why do I get all the shoit thrown at me.
Never heard wind like it last night,it was roaring round, its a wonder there were no trees down round here.
When will it all end? and where is all that surface water going to go, everything is so wet.
Mother nature reclaiming some of her land.
Hope it dries up soon
Cheers Alan

Yikes, Buttons, that sucks! Hope you get the roof fixed soon. Small snow and ice storm here the past two days, not a lot but it definitely immobilized the locals. Some large pine branches snapped off and fell on the roof, hope they didn't do much damage, fingers, toes and eyeballs crossed. In a week it will be 70 degrees according to the weather channel, talk about nutty weather.
Stay warm and well everyone.
Best wishes for many sales to all,
I often moan about where I live (and everything else), but we do usually seem to escape the worst of the weather. It seems to either go around us or the strength has been taken out of it before it gets here.
When we were having blizzard conditions a couple of weeks back it took the ridge cap shingles off the house and we had a new roof put on last fall. We had snow and I was real concerned for OH when he climbed up to replace them.
It got warm enough today to melt some of the snow and they are forecasting more for tonight. It is very unhandy but not as devastating as what I am reading about in the UK.
Stay safe and warm!
A grey start to the day, nothing dramatic, but the local forecast is not good with strong gusting winds and of course, rain for a change.
Our weather is coming in from the Atlantic, that ocean will be dry soon at this rate
I am so glad that I can work from home.
Stay safe and warm.
Graham
Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it is about learning to dance in the rain.
