Finally warming up here, 56 today and 60s tomorrow, yay, though I expect I'll be moaning about the heat before too long...

Yesterdays high was 16* with 4-5 inches of new snow, slick roads, schools let out early.

This AM it was 16* with a high of 28*, more snow, sunny part of the day.

We are forecast to have temps in the 40's for Sunday then another snowstorm coming through on Monday night. We know we live where the weather can be harsh but it has lasted longer than usual this year and I think people are getting a little depressed and grouchy. Of course, I am not talking about myself!

I just nipped down to the local shops, wind blowing strong and a very very cold chill factor.
I couldn't see where I was going because my eyes were watering so much.
Coming back was easy with the wind behind me

Heavy rain for lunch is forecast here .

Met Office say gusts of 37mph rising to 42mph when the rain arrives.

Think a day of listing in the warmth is on the cards today.

I was going into town this morning to exchange something I bought yesterday and is broken. But the gusts of wind are too strong for my liking, so will postpone till tomorrow

This is awful, I feel so sorry for everyone affected especially in Somerset, Cornwall, Devon and Wales. On top of that, more than 40,000 homes are without power in the South West. Gales of up to 100mph will lash the coasts with gusts of 70mph inland.

It's lashing down here, the trees are starting to rock and the river (Tame) is rising. Fortunately, we are safe from flooding as our house is set high up but elsewhere in our area, where the Avon meets the Severn, the land was still waterlogged as we drove past the other day. Fields were just lakes and water was encroaching low lying villages and hamlets.

I just caught a bit of the news. The sea is quite fierce again. The Thames is also running high, so it probably leaves the road below the garden under water again

I have a back yard as opposed to a garden. I have just been out there to discover everything, garden furniture, freestanding plant pots, dustbins, recycling wheelie and the kids little ornaments all collected together in one corner. Either it was really windy last night or we have some very naughty gnomes..

Snowing since early yesterday afternoon. Looks like another 6" so far and not stopping until noon today.
Crash upon crash upon crash on the highways this morning.
Typical Chicago winter.
