Probably Sphinx (more than likely) - believe they closed shop during 1985 - not been able to find a catalogue or much information about the company.

    see http://www.jacksonjewels.com/Referen...panies_S-T.htm

Had a quick look about Sphinx - all say much the same; though company closure isnt clear - some late 1990s, others 2000.

Agree, it does look like a Sphinx to me as well. Very lovely brooch.

Thanks Willo for the link, use a similar site when researching vintage jools but hadn't run into this one before, definitely a keeper.

Best wishes for many sales to all,

It's so pretty and well made, almost fools you into thinking it's Victorian. Had a similar brooch some years ago but sold it, silly me, should have kept it to wear and increase in value.

Best wishes for many sales to all,

I got another one at the same time but cant find it at the moment but I dont think its got any markings on it, its a sort of gold coloured pin with chains dangling off it like a v shaped flag, i thought I bought three but can't think what the other one was, just know that I liked them Name: smile.gif

When you find it put it up on a new thread - someone will be able to give some advice. Willo.

Okay, i did find another one like the pic in this thread on pinterest. I just looked for Sphinx and I think it near the bottom and is called a demi set as it has earrings with it.
