I can't imagine why 'they' wouldn't wish to fix it. Surely, to add the extra space must require a few extra lines of programming and all that's needed is to remove them.

I am beginning to feel that eBid just need more staff and, presumably, more investment. The site seems to be held back by a lack of technical progress.

I could be wrong but... I have the feeling that the programming side of eBid is down to one person. That likely means that only they know how it all fits together and that it is unlikely to be documented to a level that would allow other programmers to work on it without it coming apart. If anything happened that that one person was no longer around it would also likely mean the end of eBid. A rather precarious situation.

eBid seem to have a lot of things in place to try and force listings into what they believe are requirements for Google Shopping acceptance. This, like the decapitalisation of titles, are wrong interpretations of Google's policies.

It is though odd that the issue extends to the forums, which is separate to eBid.

Long ago and far away I was taken on by a major software house. They told me at interview that I would have to learn a new approach to documentation. They then put me onto a HUGE and old project where the documentation was worse than useless. It was terrifying how important the date it processed was to one of the major oil companies.

Not long after I left the project a completely fresh start was planned with the old system running in parallel.

If your theory is correct, Astral, I might be wasting a lot of time on here.

    ...
    Quite frequent.

There's a saying amongst programmers, presumably little known to managers: "There's never enough time to do it right, but there's always enough time to do it again".
