I guess the script must have taken around ten minutes to dream up.
Lets just go backwards and forwards in the tardis and look serious whilst walking roughshod over earlier plot lines.
I think they could do with a new scriptwriter?

I think the Christmas "offering" was Moffat.
I am sorry to say that I personally think that the chap fails to keep records of things that his character's say and I also think he feels that simply foiling the villains plans are not enough, you have to destroy the whole; race/planet/universe (delete as appropriate) and include every foe the doctor has ever encountered in order to make a good story.
