I dont cook on Christmas day, its too upsetting and makes me cry so I had my usual diet of biscuits, chocolate and whisky!
My cooking usually makes me and everyone else cry. Don't feel bad. Chocolate is good for you!!
We had a cold cheese sandwich for lunch, and OH had pizza and I had some fish and leftover veg for supper. When I used to eat meat, I did enjoy venison - the cranberry would be nice with it!
I hope you are feeling better mael, and also buttons, and that your creative dinner was yummy, zaranva!
Ta-Ta for now!

I had sliced Turkey for breakfast
Now there's a breakfast!
Had chicken strips from Chik-Fil-A and a homemade rye dip with mayo and corned beef we've been making since the 80s, (recipe from my old boss, the same rye dip they sell at Wegmans food markets, his family recipe actually). Always enjoy it, it's greasy, fattening and dee-lish , hence only once a year.
Happy holidaze and best wishes for many sales to all,
Our Christmas / holiday season is very low key. There is opportunity for a shift in how we celebrate now that the mothers have crossed over. So, we've taken that opportunity. No presents. No anxiety. Some simple decorations to celebrate the return of longer days.
But, we did cook a turkey dinner. Not because of any reason other than we had one in the freezer that needed cooking before it became too old. Plus, we both enjoy turkey. So we had turkey, slow-cooker stuffing, yam, beans / carrot / turnip etc. It was good. We'll be eating left overs today. Turkey for two.
:-)

We had goose with sausage and chestnut stuffing.
After all the I-don't-like-it comments, the goose was delicious. Gamey taste better than duck, and I cooked it to drain away as much fat as possible so it was not greasy. Would certainly be up for goose again.
