I have, just once, created a pdf and emailed it so the buyer could start work before her pattern arrived (in Australia) but did she say thank you? No! So why did I do the work for a £1.50 sale? Shan't be doing it again!
Madelaine, I also do not sell copies but there are those that do and make a lot of money at around £2.50 per copy. This really makes my blood boil when I have a used pattern to sell and see that these sellers have already sold dozens as 'new'. I am sure that the majority of them must still be in copyright. As you say, it is not straightforward and, apparently, it is only the person who sees their own copyright being contravened that can report the issue.

I also have a sneaking suspicion, that a lot of the Alan Dart knitting patterns which have been laminated are copies. This is very common on the river.

One day, someone will be filmed outside the High Court weeping because they have lost everything in such a law suit.

I've decided that it will not be me! (It will obviously not be you either!)

This was the one snag of bulk editing: It appears at the bottom of the description. Too time consuming to go through the whole lot individually.

Have now added to notices so it appears top and bottom of listings.

    OVERKILL????? Yep, but forearmed etc.
I don't see your seller notices on your listings but I do see your Added by Seller bit at the bottom.

This thread got my blood boiling. I'm a knitter and buy and sell (once used) patterns.
I've had this very same problem once with a postcard - listed in postcard category, item title along the lines of postcard xx museum, 18thC slippers - the guy thought he was buying the slippers for 90p + letter rate p&p.

Although I am all in favour of and insist on proper customer service, I'm afraid there is a large number of dimwits about and I feel sorry for the sellers who have to deal with them.

I will try and remember this when I have to edit the postal charges which undoubtedly will happen next year.

I remember that Marian. I haven't decided what to do about mine as yet as I just edited everyone of my 1769 listings one at a time so that added by seller would not be stamped on them and lets face it they don't read the notice at the top of listings as mine says about contact me Before paying for combined postage and even more of them don't,( costing me money ) so I think I may just leave them as I can't use the spread sheet.
