Thread: A Seasons Greetings!

  1. #1

    Default A Seasons Greetings!

We live in a new world I told my wife. The internet has made the distance between countries and cultures closer than any other technology before. So I figured that if we traveled what we would hear as a holiday greeting from that county we visited. So I thought it would be interesting to see all the worlds seasons greetings.

    From Greg and Kelly Spies
    1. Merry Christmas!
    2. May your season be jolly!
    3. May your family and friends find joy!

even when I was a child, christmas was no really celebrated in Scotland. It was Hogmanay and New Year that were the big days. My mum used to send new years cards to her friends and family. It was only in the later 70's and onwards that christmas became a big thing.
Lang may yer lum reek means long may your chimney smoke, may you always have heat at the heart of your home.
Christmas has become a global phenomena celebrated the world over but the traditions are becoming homogenised. It is good to remember a little of what life was like before tv took over our lives

When I was younger, I would go out on nights when the snow would fall. No sound could be heard. It was peaceful. I always thought that time was peaceful. That there were no strife. That at that moment, there was a time where there was no trouble. It might have been a foolish dream, but it was peaceful.
