Butt then it would not be voided if the option is not there.
The results of the poll so far shows that most sellers do not want the change

It is your perrogative to close your account, but why throw away the chance of getting sales / monies via ebid?

Yes, it is his prerogative and he has chosen that route. As for 'throw (ing) away the chance of getting sales/monies via ebid" he was sceptical in that direction to say the least. But the last thing eBid needs is another damning report on Tamebay.

WHY did the button pusher not PM him????

Sorry I dont see why eBid actually upholding their own rules should create a damning report.

I still think it is a shame that someone closes their account due to not being able to display a phone number Even if they were already sceptical about the site its always best IMO to keep your options open.
If the account is left open, he/she as the option to return at a later date without incurring any more monies.

As to why the button pusher did not PM him
Dont ask me why the button pusher did not PM him, it was not me who did the button pushing its not my style.

I dont understand why ebid not allowing phone numbers to be displayed would leave ebid open to a damning report on the other site. Even ebay are now putting in process procedures on their site so that there is little communication between buyers & sellers due to the off site sales abuse.

That wasn't what I said. My point was that he was reported for doing so without being given the chance to remove it.

Although it wasn't me that reported you,if I'd seen it I would have done.eBid is a level playing field as far as sellers are concerned. The rules apply to us all,why should you be any different?Just because you don't agree with a rule doesn't mean you can ignore it.

My experience is that you cannot PM someone with whom you have not had a transaction.
I did try to contact a seller by PM but was not allowed. I was told to use "Ask a Question".

Just PMd you Tony to see if that is correct.

I'm very confused with all of this. I thought you were suppose to show your contact details if you are a business? I mentioned to someone a few weeks ago that he had his phone number on his 'About Me' page and everyone said that was ok?

So it would seem, so far. I have noticed that some of you who have responded so far have also added links to your shops. Nothing wrong with this of course but are not making the most of an avenue/opportunity for more sales.
