Can I suggest that you take a minute to check your Defaults?

My Google Shopping 'No' box was checked. Lord knows how this happened, but it must have been checked right from my early days on eBid.

You are automatically opted into Google Shopping - as long as the listings meet the requirements.

But there is an opt out under the 'defaults' section on your 'my options'

By the way, check on your thread '2 questions' I have some more info for you before you list any more.

Wasn't this issue connected to the number of adverts inserted into a user's listings?

I seem to recall the opt out was to enable people to remove the adverts, but the opt in required paying for by having ads in the listings.

Precisely. My 'opt out' was obviously accidental. Why would anyone wish NOT to have their listings uploaded?

I would think that it was something to do with the way Google Shopping was structured in the early days. Back then I believe it was possible to submit the listings to Google yourself - so on eBid there was a choice between doing it yourself or letting eBid do it.

Not totally sure on that, but it sounds logical and is what I have always assumed.

It was later used by eBid as a way for those unhappy with ads in the centre of listings, ie: opt out and they won't appear.
