Thread: Iced-up car - Help!!!

  1. #1

    Default Iced-up car - Help!!!

Well, it would seem that winter is here. This morning the car was well and truly iced-up and, like last year, it was a struggle to open the doors. (Not locks - door seals).

I used a silicone project last year, but this was only effective for a few weeks and very expensive.

Does anyone have a solution to this problem, please?

Would a paste brush with veg oil not do the trick? I mean it makes things less likely to stick when cooking so would it work when freezing.

Yes, it probably would - as would vaseline. But there is always the risk of getting it on clothes

Have just 'Googled' and cooking spray does seem to be the solution - just make sure the seals are then rubbed with paper towel.

Hope this helps anyone else with the problem.

I always used commercial de-icer spray for car locks and doors when I lived in NY. Had no idea about the cooking spray, thanks for the tip, will pass it on to my sis and bro in law.

Best wishes for many sales to all,
