Thread: I would like to see Newbie listings

  1. #1

Default I would like to see Newbie listings

On the home page, we see the latest newbie registered and I often look to see where they are but at that point they generally dont have anything listed. They then they disappear into the site and unless you make a note of all of their names you would never know if the type of things that they have brought with them will be of interest to you. You would only find their items if you were searching for anything in particular.

It would be nice if the newbie listings were highlighted in some way, if only for a day or two and only maybe just one. There is a section on the home page of 'new auctions' which I wonder if that could be 'newbie auctions'

    Any thoughts anyone?

Excellent suggestion. I agree, it might be a boost for newbies to get them more interested in eBid.

Best wishes for many sales to all,

I watch the new and closing listings so that I can get to see what the other Canadian sellers are offering. As their listings are churning up to the top (that is, if they don't use Run Until Sold), then I browse their listings.

Plus I can go to Shops located in Canada and in other countries as well, just by changing the url a little bit.

Also, since any member can post in the forums (without needing a certain level of feedback first), maybe it would be nice to have a section in the forums called "introduce yourself here". A newcomer could make that introduction their first stop.

I found the forums a bit confusing to begin with. Not because the forums were confusing, but because I was in the learning curve relating to the whole website in general, so I was overwhelmed a bit.

I suggested this on another thread. The Hot Sellers don't need encouragement, the new ones do.

I also think it would be useful for buyers, there are a lot of things that I dont need but might like. When I think of something I will look to see if there is anyone selling it here and if not I then forget about it but if I saw a new member selling it I would then consider buying it.
Several posters on the forums say that the site needs sellers of one thing or another but unless we trawl through every listing regularly we wouldn't know if a new seller had started selling those things anyway.

You can try to put items on the front page, but that it will cost money. You will get a bill every month for this type of listing.

I think you have zaranvalesasterix reference to the front page confused with a featured listing. There is no cost for items on the front page. These are items that fit the category and are chosen by the search engine parameters.

So why did they send me a bill just for having my items on the front page? Perhaps you should check further.$2.50 for front page listing.
