When you get to where you are shipping 100+ packages *A DAY*, you'll discover that, too.

Each transaction, by and large, gets its own shipment, careful packaging, and label - We have had as many as 4-5 packages go out the same day to the same buyer, same address. It's all about efficiency.

For a smaller seller that might ship 5-10 times a week, I can see it working to pack things up together, but for us, it just can't be done without having to hire more employees (and at the profit margins to be had, and the few people that do buy each item one by one, it simply is not cost effective.)

if the buyer buys a combined order (or requests combined invoice) then we do treat it as a single package and offer discounted shipping, no problem there, but if they are in such a hurry as to buy it and pay right away, we assume they will want it shipped ASAP as well, so we do. (most orders ship within 24 hours if not same day) - I just wish there were an easier way to add tracking to the AAL (if only it could be automated by hooking up with paypal multi order shipping.. or connected to ShipWorks in some way... )
Wow! - if only I were so lucky to be that busy!

Well, I am only too happy to serve in the interest of the buyer - so I offer combined postage whatever the circumstance of the payment/invoice - it's how I would expect to be treated too.

Thanks meebo1 - yes, I have tried that : but it still only allows creation of an invoice for a single. The option to add the other items is not there.

The only way is to refund ALL the items paid and start again - but that means the buyer needs to go through the payment process again too.

I recently had a buyer who purchased quite a few items individually, i refunded all the items the buyer had paid for, i then sent her a combined invoice and also contacted her to tell her what i had done. She paid again, but i have had this problem in the past and i recall one buyer (not here) who refused to pay again even though she was saving on P&P costs !!!

I have been known to overlook the little drop down menu : add other items
