Thread: Duplicate listings after pinning to Pinterest

Default Duplicate listings after pinning to Pinterest

Hi, I have noticed over the last few days some of my items that I have listed and then gone on to pin on Pinterest boards are being duplicated. I noticed this because I have received 2 emails from you confirming the listings. Up till now I have spotted (or think I have) all of these duplicate listings.

The latest two I have left for you to look at. They are as follow.

I think this only happens when after relisting I then go straight to the new listing via the link provided with the relist confirmation, and then pin it, then clicking on the back tab. If I don't hit the back tab instead click on my ebid tab and then onto unsold items the item doesn't get duplicated.

This is only a recent problem as I have been doing this for quite a while when relisting and pinning.

I hope I have made the problem clear. Thanks in advance Mel

This is part of an email I had today Mel.

I get the impression that Pinterest are now being charged for posting certain 'pins'. It's just the impression I got so don't take it as gospel, but it may also have something to do with the duplicates and eBid being charged for your listings?

Pinterest is where you keep your wishlists, holiday plans, dream home ideas and other things you want to do soon and in the future.
That's why for us, it's so important that Pinterest is a service that will be here to stay. To help make sure it does, we're going to start experimenting with promoting certain pins from a select group of businesses.
I know some of you may be thinking, "Oh great...here come the banner ads.” But we’re determined to not let that happen. Whilst we haven't figured out all the details, I can say that promoted pins will be:
    • Tasteful - No flashy banners or pop-up ads.
    • Transparent - We’ll always let you know if someone paid for what you see, or where you see it.
    • Relevant - These pins should be about stuff you're actually interested in, like a delicious recipe, or a jacket that's your style.
    • Improved based on your feedback - Keep letting us know what you think, and we'll keep working to make things better.
For our first test, we'll promote a few pins in search results and category feeds. For example, a pin for a Darth Vader outfit from a costume shop might be promoted in a search for “Halloween”. Nobody's paying for anything yet - we want to see how things go and, more than anything, hear what you think.
Thank you so much for all your support during our first few years, and we hope you'll keep pinning with us for many years to come!

When you hit the back button, I think that you are going back to the last page of the listing process then the server refreshes the page which causes the item to be listed twice. It has happened to me twice this week, I don't know if it's a glitch, but as long as I don't hit the back button, nothing gets double listed.

Yes that's what is happening to me, so as you say I have stopped doing this. I have also submitted an enquiry to the help desk and waiting for their solution.
