You've hit the nail on the head as to friendly. I had spoken up on the Big Site and ran afoul of what can be called nothing short of hostility towards those just like us, tired of fees off the handle (my fave is the "fee" for sellers' expenses in shipping). The gist I get here is that this one is smaller-seller friendly, while another is taxing them out of the ring.

I believe that in the main we are the smaller sellers. We can't afford the free shipping that the importers/w.h.y. can because we're not here for volume, but either to clean up the place or pursue our little adventures in a bigger venue than Hyde can afford (I don't know if it's online yet, but I had to walk it then...).

The attitude is pretty much everything. A Mr. Fripp was quoted to have said that he preferred colleagues (I believe in ref to one of his Leagues, at that) perhaps not as accomplished but with good attitudes to those highly competent with poor ones, hence it seems well worth it, at the outset, to jump in with the underdog site, not the biggest in numbers or even return, simply on the principle that we may find actual people here to work with.

I had a flawless record on that other site, but that last "fee" was Martian in its reason, and I don't know how any reasonable person could defend it. So here, instead of the ein, zwei, get in line of that bunch (try criticising them on their posting board!), I found here that folk are actually quite genuine-sounding in their posts to the boards, what I've read, and trust that the parties to deals have little/no shoulder-chips as some have got over there (they complain about payment in two days, a blog tells me. I give a fortnight. Hey- I can't force anyone to do anything, and this site sounds much less about force than letting people actually enjoy what they come here to do. The cooperative attitude determines what kind of site you get, and vice-versa, and if you're out there to trade, why not have a healthy time to do so?) That last one was brutal, and so some among its supporters.

I, like several others, didn't go online to take over the turf, but to simply clean house in a way easier than going to the market every Sunday and getting shoplifted. Ideally the decent spirit prevails on this site throughout, and will make a healthier environment overall. Having seen how well a good model of supportive colleagues can do in most any situation, I have very good initial reaction to this spot, and wish all the good sports hereon a positive trading experience.
