Why doesn't Ebid show the number of bids in the galleries?

Sure wish the ones who run this site knew about bidding and showing the bids meant to everyone(even if they do not realize it) who deals on us.eBid.net deserves.. yes, deserves.

There's two aspects under discussion. Whether a seller gets to see info about their own auctions (e.g. bids, watch-counts), and whether anyone browsing gets to see such info.

Since I've not had a bid in several years (admittedly I'm not trying very hard), I assume that showing a sea of 0 bids would discourage visitors.

Without data that only the site owners have, I don't see how we can make informed suggestions on this.

You have brought up a good point with "a sea of 0 bids would discourage visitiors". I think that you could apply this to sorting sold from unsold in completed it may discourage sellers by making the search able to do that.

The lack of a bid column certainly does not ruin things for me, and I am a seller with about 1800 listings.

All with a Buy It Now price.

Because this is not an auction site.

And I like many many internet users, now prefer to know what the price of an item is, and have the ability to control things by being able to buy the item immediately.

If you Google bid (just ebid) the second entry comes up as follows

"eBid. The worlds online auction marketplace. Buy & sell just about anything in our free listing auction and fixed price environment."

Now that wording is picked up by Google from the ebid website.

So that is what ebid are saying about their site.

I sell all of my items as Buy It Now because they do not suit auctions.

But there are many items that I am sure do suit auctions.

And there are many people on ebay who pine for the old auction days.

Surely ebid could try to attract them and have the best of both worlds Buy it Now and Auctions.

None of the other major alts have auctions, so it is a big selling opportunity for ebid.
But they should show the bids, or at least trial it again for 6 months giving us the sales figures at the start and end of the the trial.
