Thread: What Do eBid Buyers Often Buy?

What do we tend to buy on-line? Postcards, craft items, flashlights, batteries, coin flips, glassines.

Sometimes I'll buy a book or an audiobook.

Things that I can't find locally.

Yes maybe the end has come for 99p auctions.

People know that that was just a kicker to get bidding started.

Start with a realistic reserve or a buy now price.

The lack of bids on a gold coin proves that..

Never been a fan of reserve pricing but if it's something I'm shopping for I have no problem bidding up to the amount I am willing to pay. If I don't hit the reserve I move on.
When there were bidding wars a $.99 auction start even with a reserve would net a lot of action but nowadays auctions are not like they used to be.
For certain items I use to like the auction better than Buy It Now style listings. I would get surprised quite often as to what some of my cymbals would auction off for and in most cases would have asked far less in a Buy It Now listing.

Actually, I rarely bother bidding on anything with a reserve. It feels like a game to me, and I would rather know up front what an item's cost would be. If it's an auction, I might be tempted (and often am! ...) to bid much higher than the initial listing. If it's buy it now, I often do!

It's not the fault of the site, or a mindset of eBidders only........I have felt that way long before I was on eBid. I don't think it's a feeling limited to,, or cherished by eBidders as a group..............just an opinion or feeling that some people have, where others don't!

As to what sells here......................it's an answer that has to vary by seller, buyer, season, price, market conditions, economy, mail prices, health, budgets, availability, presentation, timing, etc........................I've sold postcards.....................and many normal, mundane items, and some very strange items. I look for a huge variety of things online, as I live in the country and don't get to town much. Whatever I buy, I look here first.
    Ta-Ta for now!

Do you mean on eBid? The coin has already received bids elsewhere.

The start bid of $0.99 was reasonable. The bids are well above that level.

P.S. One may not want to start any auction now @ below 1 GBP equivalent, as those listings will not be uploaded to Google Shopping according to newest Update.

That these particular sellers are from overseas market or from USA market (on average)….?....

    Thanks for your reply ‘’burg’’…...

I did; think it made it to around $700 Did not reach the reserve, but anything is better that nothing. Funniest part was the "rumor" that it was listed for above the 1 GBP listing criterior for YDC.

    So…who is the higher bidder….?

Anyone from peoples who list regularly monthly on YDC auction…..or?....

And who made that ‘’price criteria’’….
I mean I read very often how peoples can list own items for price whatever likes….

Probably YDC auction has ‘’special’’ rules…..I don’t know for real, because I not know much about YDC auction….

I just if I have to give something for free I just call local guys in here who pick this stuff and I left in my front door, after I come back late all is gone and left me some ‘’papers’’ for me because I can count this for my TAX return…
Is just much more ‘’short’’ way for me rather to do YDC Auction….you know…my time…took pictures…write description…come back every day to promote that, I can’t anymore and top of that I am not yet retired and still working…

Either way the charities benefit, and that is the most important thing.]
