Default New to eBid ... Help choosing a seller account??

    Hi,
Im new to eBid and was a bit confused by the seller / Seller+ subscription options. I want to give my items good exposure and chance to sell but dont want to waste money if you can get the same exposure with the free option.
I noticed the google marketplace in the seller+ but not in the free subscription... Does that mean my items would come up on a google search with seller+ and not with standard seller?
    Regards
    Phil

I have similar questions. I enrolled in the Seller Plus. I got a bill for July for $31.25 which I assume is the basic monthly charge for my store. All that is good and I am willing to help develop the site but I was disappointed in that time to have a 0 in every category in my control panel. It does not appear that anyone has even looked at my store. I am in it for the long haul but am more used to eBay. I may not like their fees or policies but I sell a lot there. I paid the invoice but may switch to a final value fee based system if the volume is going to be this low or even non existent.

What is your experience with selling on eBid?

as a PS How do I enter a New Post? I must be dense because I can't even find the link. duhhhhh

As far as I am aware there is no charge for an ebid store!

You can have 5 stores for free, they are not analogous to ebid stores (where you get cheaper listings) they are merely a way of categorisng your items in to eg books, DVD's toys, printers etc.

Ebid is very easy to use, but with any new site, there is a to to learn, so just take it easy and look around and ask questions.

Seller+ is a subscription for 7days/31days......lifetime. If you sign up for any period less than lifetime you are charged at the end of each period. Any payment you make is offset against the cost of a lifetime subscription. So if the $31.25 was for a subscription it will be deducted if you take out a lifetime subscription.

You can get a list of what you get for each subscription level at http://uk.ebid.net/help_register.php#1a

You will not get the same exposure with the free option. You would not get a Gallery Image or upload to Google Shopping, both of which are seen as essential by many sellers.

If you do pay for the weekly or monthly subscription this will be deducted from your payment if you decide to upgrade to Lifetime later.

Hi, I have only checked a couple of your items.....and it would seem that you have them listed as "featured" - this is chargeable.

Up to 5 stores are free - there is no monthly charge.

Interestingly I forgot all about the lifetime deal and that is what I enrolled for. I am listed as lifetime. I think that was $49.95 or something like that. They must bill it as "earned" instead of single pay. They billed me for $31.25 for July 1- July30.

OR, as the other reply states it is for the featured ad placement options I selected. I think the featured ad idea runs out and discontinues itself automatically, doesn't it? or do I have to do something to drop that option?

    Welcome to eBid!

You will continue to be billed for a featured listing for the life of the listing.

    Wish you much success here.

If you go to My eBid, on the left you have links to all your options. Take a look at the Fees and Invoices and you will see what you have been charged for.

If you have Featured listings they will be charged at £1 every time they are listed or reposted. There are advantages to this type of listing. Obviously there is the added exposure. But as well as that there is no FVF, so for an item that sells well or a high priced item it could be cheaper. But use it wisely. They only stay featured for 30 days, so I would set them up for 30 days with no auto Reposts. That way you can evaluate whether it is worthwhile every month.

To remove a featured listing close the listing, make sure you do so just before it is due to repost as if you have paid you will want your money's worth. Then repost making sure you change from Featured.

    Hi,

I'm new to ebid and my account status is "buyer" right now. I would like to know how I can grade to "seller" instead of "seller+"?

    Thanks.
