Why do our listings keep vanishing on Google Products ?

In February of 2011, many sites saw a dramatic loss of views when Google rolled out their new Panda algorithm. This algorithm was suppose to cut out content farms, but about 12% of actual sites were negatively impacted by this change. Etsy shops seemed to also be hit by Panda 1.0. (This is my opinion based on the drop in views reported by many shops on the forums at that time)

After seeing a negative impact on many online retailers Google did adjust the algorithm to reduce those negative impacts.

So why the history lesson? After noticing more reports of little to no views, I decided to check to see if another update had rolled out. Sure enough around May 22nd, Panda 4.0 was released. There were also a few upgrades released to prep for 4.0

One of those upgrades is known as "phantom" and from the reported data, many sites reported significant loss of traffic.

would a content farm be a seller or sellers listing hundreds if not thousands of the same items clogging up google seaches ?

Afew days I have edited by hand a few of my items adding EXEMPT to the barcode box. I have also listed a few new items with EXEMPT in the barcode box.
Despite regular checking none of these items have appeared in Google Shopping.

Seems like everyone was upset with eBay constantly changing & now Google is doing the same thing, that will not encourage sellers to leave eBay.

Makes me wonder if google are also chasing the big retailers items to advertise, smaller guys will not have the same amount of monies to spend on advertising that the buy guys have to spend.

Going by the links in Comets earlier post I can not work out if putting exempt is the right way or not, or should we be putting false in the box?
Wish Gazza would advise as it could be a lot of time & effort wasted changing listings only to find it was the wrong thing to do.

I really doesn't matter what you put in the field on eBid. What matters is what eBid sends to Google.

So, if eBid were to say to put Tickle Me With A Feather in that field then that is what you put. It is then up to eBid to interpret that and send the correct data to Google.

At the moment the problem is when the listings actually get to Google. Sometimes they are showing them and sometimes not. Today they have been showing most of the morning for me, but they do still disappear for short spells.
