Help Please - HTML Problems with New Items using Firefox

I have just started using Firefox instead of Internet Explorer.

I generally prepare my item descriptions in MS_Word then copy them into the new item template on eBid. With Internet Explorer a dialogue popped up starting with “The text you want to paste seems to be copied from Word. Do you want to clean it before pasting?” I am not getting this option in Firefox and consequently the font, spacing etc is all awry.

I have turned off the Popup blocker. (Firefox> Content> Block Popup Windows) but I still don’t get it. Any ideas?

Many thanks, I didn’t know that facility was there. I just tried it and it does bring up the ‘paste from word’ popup box but it doesn’t correct the fonts like it does when working in IE. However if I use the “Paste as plain text” which is the button next to it and then select it all and change the font it works fine as an easy workround. Many thanks for your help.

There is an option on the Paste from Word dialogue (which appears to be selected by default) to Ignore Font Face Definitions. Have you tried deselecting that option to see if it makes any difference?

Paste from Word is not a feature I have used (I wouldn't let Word near anything but itself), so am not sure what the option actually does.

I use HTML all the time and I would never use Word to do it for copy/pasting anywhere online especially here on eBid - it adds weird code that can screw up a template. I always use an HTML editor.

Yes, thanks, I always deselect that option. I agree with you and jeweleffects that the problem really is Word and I guess it gives different results using Firefox than with IE. Now I have found the Paste as Plain Text option its fine and I can keep on listing!
