    Default Asda shoppers savings idea

It's always nice to save money whilst shopping so I've been taking advantage of the Asda price guarantee. This is where they guarantee to be 10% cheaper than the other major stores in your area.If not they give you a printable voucher.I've been doing it for a couple of months & in that time have probably only had half a dozen that didn't qualify.
It struck me however that a couple of quid off a week's shopping, although nice, isn't a great deal. What I do now is use one of their gift cards & add the voucher amount to the card.By Christmas there'll be a nice amount to buy the booze with.

Tesco, the world's third-biggest retailer, slipped back to an underlying sales decline at the lower end of expectations in the UK in the first quarter, raising doubts about a costly recovery plan for its home market.
The firm, which recorded a fall in profit for the first time in two decades in the year that ended 23 February 2013, has spent £1bn on a fight back plan for its British stores, where it makes about two thirds of revenue and profit.

A little Asda has opened near to us - convenient for the bus too. Although it is small they have a bit of everything and they charge the same prices as the largest superstores - excellent. None of this 'we are just a convenience store' (Tesco's excuse) or 'I don't think we stock that anymore' (Morrisons staff at their best).

What I really like about Asda is there are no clubcards or vouchers to collect - just low prices every week and they have really worked hard on their staff's friendliness and attention to detail and it works for me.
