    Default Dead thread: Woolwich

Politics aside, this was a despicable crime in 'Anybody's book'!

Branding a religion as evil is devicive, inflametary and evil itself.

Imagine if you will the that 'Aims' of the perpurtraters came to pass.
Ethnic, religious, or whatever excuse propmts bloody wars on our streets!
    That prospect is insane!

What needs to happen is that 'Government' grasp the nettles that are immirgration, intolerance, data protection (I've nowt to hide). and above all 'Corruption'!

Politicions with 'balls' is what we need!

    End of!

Eyewitnesses said that one of the attackers charged towards officers clutching bloodied weapons including a meat cleaver
Of course...highly paid (out of our pockets) defence lawyers will claim he was trying to give himself up and was illegally shot by trigger-happy police. We then have to pay him compensation.

(that's not what was decided by the court when Nick Griffin was accused of inciting hate etc for describing Islam as an 'evil and wicked religion)

Give him a grave if he dies and life imprisonment if he survives!

Looking at the news (as an armchair general )
I see that there is a debate about 'drones' AKA unmanned planes that are supposedly targeting terrorists in Pakistan and causing civilian deaths.

Maybe there is more than a hint of 'Orginisation' behind this savage attack in Woolwich.

The original thread was one of the most appalling threads I have seen on the eBid forum.

To answer some of the prejudices that were posted to that thread.

In the UK the overwhelming majority of the population who follow the Islamic faith are decent law abiding citizens who respect society and who contribute to it.

In the UK everybody is subject to either local national law or to UK law. Shariah law is not recognised and never will be recognised within the official legal systems.

In the UK we do not pay Muslim clerics to incite hatred against us.

In the UK we do not have stupid laws that do not allow us to deport people. If that comment was made in relation to Abu Qatada, his deportation has been held up whilst the problem solving of ensuring that he receives a fair trial in Jordan continues. Once that problem solving has been completed, he will be sent back to Jordan and will not be put on trial there on the basis of weak evidence obtained by torture but he will be tried to internationally accepted standards. The British people should take pride in the fact that this matter is being dealt with in such a professional way and that we have the checks and balances in our legal system to require.such high standards. The delay in deporting him has been due to lack of understanding of the practical application of the relevant law in our Government, not because we have stupid laws.

With regard to what was post 36 on this thread purporting to be comments made by the Australian Prime Minister, this was a regurgitation of false information that has been spread on the internet with malicious intent for many years. The purpose of spreading such postings is to inflame the passion of the gullible and to stir up hatred against people who follow the Islamic faith. Prime Minister Gillard did not make the comments that posting 36 said she made. Neither did her predecessors to whom earlier versions of the transcript were attributed when they were first circulated on the internet. The people who posted to the original thread in support of the sentiments were showing their own prejudices.

If this Forum is hosted on a server based in the United Kingdom, post 43 on the original thread represented an offence in breach of the Racial and Religious Hatred Act 2006 of the United Kingdom. This law was put in place so that the basic dignity of all sections of society could be protected in law and this posting breached that law.

We need strong laws in the UK to protect all citizens and all sections of society from people who make false judgements and who are unable to control their own personal prejudices when they denigrate others in public.

Continental Europe has largely learned the lessons of the Fascist era when whole sections of society could be ostracised and have false accusations made about them based upon false prejudice. Those lessons are enshrined in the social law of the European Union which is one of the reasons why the European Union was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. At least people in some parts of the world have learned from the past and can therefore create a better future.

The eBid Forum should not be used as a vehicle to express personal prejudices or used in ways that offend the customer base of eBid.

Must be about the only country in the world in which they would still be alive.

Which is why many politicians will be delighted that this incident occurred, as it will give them the chance to once again try to introduce the Communications Data Bill.

I have nothing to hide also (as far as I am aware). That does not mean that I want the government to have the right to eavesdrop on my life with no checks and balances in place. Governments are not to be trusted, and are very good at using incidents such as this to erode civil liberties. Once one liberty has been chipped away it is all the easier for them to chip away even bigger lumps.
