yes i ha lego bricks
yes i ha lego bricks
My grandchildren happily play with the wooden bricks I bought for my kids when they were small.
- I knew if I kept the bricks they would come in useful one day!![]()
My last two or three kids (I had 5) were really into Jurassic Park - I think I bought every one of the prehistoric animals/critters for them.
I am still finding them in the garden - they used to hide them under foliage, rocks, around the fish pond etc.
Their imagination went wild - they spent many hours playing with them.
My son, Dominic, was absolutely and totally obsessed with Thomas the Tank Engine.
I started reading the books to him when he was about 2 years old, he knew every word on every page.
I could not walk past a toy shop without Dominic wanting a new Thomas toy.
I think we must have every one that was made - and they are all in our garage in a bag - waiting for our son's son!
Lego too was an important stage in their development - they made use of the blocks and bits and bobs that they had, and created their own little things, always so fascinating to see how a child can use up so much imagination!
When we were looking at this house with a view to buying it, I noticed a photograph of an elderly clergyman. My first thought was "I recognise him". The second was "All elderly clergyman must look rather alike". Only later I discovered that we were buying our house from the Rev Awdry's daughter!

I didn't get lego, I got bought a Bako set ( but it was really because my dad wanted it)
Do you mean BAYKO? I remember my elder sister (showing your age Buttons?) had a set of that. More like tiles then bricks that slid between metal rods. Made more realistic buildings than LEGO - but were not as flexible in what could be made or open to the use of imagination.
Yes thats it and i am 62.... can't remember what country we bought it in cause I am an Air Force bratt![]()
no, but there were Thomas items EVERYWHERE. They moved within our small town to a larger house and it is also full of thomas-a-bilia
I had Bayko as well as Lego. The Bayko is long gone but the Lego was used by our sons and much of our loft insulation is lego waiting for the next generation.
