What's it going to be?

Have had this cactus for more years than I care to think about. It has never had a flower on it before - but now looks like it is going to produce one ( maybe one of those that only flowers every 100 years? ) I wonder if it is going to be worth the wait?

We used to have a plant that looked very similar to the one in the photo, and as I remember once it flowered it then started flowering every couple of years. The flowers were quite large, Pink and felt waxy to the touch.

Same as mine, but the flowers were a deep red. I had it years before it actually flowered - it was a beautiful surprise.

Mine flowered for about 4 years and then we put it outside and forgot it and it popped it's cloggs, I always thought they died after they flowered but ours didn't untill we put it out.

This is what came out. There are also many other buds showing signs of life.
