I have done some home work a helpful ebider sent me some info on copyright last night and as far as I can tell the scans in my blog do not infringe UK copyright.
The scans would be classed as part of works and less then the percentage of the whole works to infringe the copyright.
If i had scanned the full comic then the publisher of the comic would not be to happy and this may infringe copyright also if i had scanned the full Dan Dare Story in full (all episodes) and in order then again i would be in trouble but the 3 pages I have scanned would not infringe copyright think it is some thing to do with part works ( am at work at the min and don't have access to the info for the full terms)
as regards to the taking photos of some thing on a table and scan of the actual printed comic i don't see a difference also I have on here the use of 5 pictures if i was selling a high end comic i would use all 5 and at least one maybe two would be scans or photos of inside the comic under your explanation this would then become a problem with copyright because either way you would be showing content?.
reading through the details sent to me which is a uk gov doc on the subject the whole thing is that woolly and out dated that it would be hard to prove either way.
