Yes Meebo post office open this morning, but talking to our postmistress on Thursday they are dreading Tuesday with all the changes happening so it may be cheper to post it today.

Got hit again last night a newbie sneaked in from Northern Ireland so I have to rush to the post office in a minute.

Gearing myself up for another meal out at a friend's house this evening. I think there will have to be a mega diet after Easter, I can't even blame the Easter eggs.
I won't be able to do my uniform buttons up by Tuesday !

Have been to post, & have discovered from the post office that wont need to change postage for crested china as its very little in it but the Packet will be classes as a cube. Think will be fun & games in Post offices on Tuesday.

Just for you Private Meebo. The site where I used to get it from has closed down which is a pain as there used to be some good ones on there.

You can send a cube shaped parcel that is 16 x 16 x 16cms by the small parcel rate. Not a lot of good to me because of having to use lots of bubble wrap to keep my pottery safe !

Format changes


Right now, the amount you pay for your parcels is based on weight. But the size of your parcel has an impact on the cost of collecting, transporting and delivering it. Our new fairer pricing takes this into account.

We are introducing two new parcel formats - Small Parcel and Medium Parcel. These will replace the current packet and parcel formats.
The size and weight limits for 1st Class, 2nd Class, Royal Mail Signed For™ 1st Class and Royal Mail Signed For™ 2nd Class parcel formats are:

New Format	Size (up to)	Weight (up to)
Small Parcel	Length - 45cm Width - 35cm Depth - 8cm Exceptions apply, see the table below	2kg
Medium Parcel	Length - 61cm Width - 46cm Depth - 46cm	20kg
Large Parcel	For Parcels greater in size than 61cm x 46cm x 46cm or heavier than 20kg, use Parcelforce Worldwide products.

There are no changes to the Letter and Large Letter formats and no change to Special Delivery Guaranteed by 9am™ and Special Delivery Guaranteed by 1pm™.
