Any UK folks watching THE HOTEL on C4?

For those who have seen the goings-on at The Grosvenor Hotel, Torquay, Devon, I wonder what you now think of the resort?

Does seeing the ineptitude and stupidity of the staff at the Grosvenor put you off Torquay or Devon?

Does it make you feel that if one hotel is this badly run that other ones in the area would be similar?

Or have you seen something which would make you want to visit the area?

Or would you even want to visit The Grosvenor itself (even though it is no longer owned or run by those people?)

What are your thoughts?

I've watched it and think it's one of the best comedy programmes on at the moment - John Cleese eat your heart out ! Something happens every week to make you cringe it's on a par with 'The Office' !
It wouldn't put me off going to Torquay or Devon. I might even consider staying there just for the sheer entertainment value of what is going to go wrong next !

Hi I'm an ex- hotelier and love watching it. Just for the laughs. It reminds me of faulty towers many years ago. It would not stop me going to Torquay or Devon but them I never thought of going there, so just for the interest side of things if I'm every in the area I may stop and have a look. It's a light hearted look at this hotel and if you don't take it as standard, then it won't put you off staying in the area.

HAven't seen it, but due to the comments, I will now look for it! I can't say if I'd stay there, as it would depend on what the problems were.....if the place was quiet and clean, then other things might be amusing!

I havent seen it recently, but i have seen some of them before...

I recall the swimming pool was grubby and dirty and a mother didnt want her children in it just in case they caught something.. :S

I wouldn't stay there, but it was funny to watch all the mistakes and things that go on...

It says something about the hotel manger's mentality that he must have thought doing this program would be good for his hotel. Not surprised he no longer runs its,

I live very close to Torquay, and in fact a couple of years ago was at a friends wedding at the Grosvenor. From the point of view of myself, I didnt have any complaints that time, hehe.

Seriously though, I havent watched the Hotel, but every area will have it's good businesses and bad businesses, and if it has changed hands since, well... no I would not be put off.
