    Default Christmas Cheer dampened :(

Two Not as described and damage claims from over there.

Will have to refund over £70 - pointless to argue - will have to suck it up.

I know my descriptions are accurate and my packing is 'bombproof'.

Just leaves a bad taste in my mouth, especially this time of year.

    Roll on 2013

I have had five try-ons over the past week from that auction site we will not name. All "item not received"s. In EVERY CASE I input the tracking number into Royal Mails track and trace, and sure enough it had been recieved and signed for, and in four of the five cases by someone of the buyers full name! Needless to say, when I replied politely back with that, no further communications from any of them.

    No problems on ebid though...

Only ever had one, and that was justified: I failed to see some underlining in a book.

@patriot - I get that sometimes too, though less commonly. Never do they actually send the item back or open a claim or anything. I always reply immediately and say that yes a return is fine, I will refund as soon as the item comes back, and invariably I never hear another word. Same as with items "damaged in the mail" - they are never actually able to even supply a photo of the damage!

I always reply fairly, because if there is a genuine problem, then it needs dealing with, but these kind are obviously not.
Sad to say with the economy and times being harder and harder for people, I think we will only see more of it, as people get more desperate.

Ouch Pink, that sucks. Makes you wonder what some people use for Christmas spirit...

Agree with Madelaine, much better over here.

I've just had an "item not received". Not here or on that other well known site. I posted it standard airmail on 7/11 - only today did I get a complaint. It was very low value. I've refunded to avoid arguments/neg fb, etc., but I did wonder why on earth they didn't raise the alarm until today.

If it was the other way round, I'd start contacting my seller about a fortnight after I'd paid and/or they'd marked the item as posted.

I have also had a "not arrived" claim from a high feedback buyer on the other side. My own fault really.
I looked at his high feedback, saw he was a fellow book seller, so I though I would trust him and sent it parcel.
Within three days he is complaining that it has not arrived. I communincate with him "Christmas mail" etc. He goes straight to the ebay customer seller protection thingy. I refund instantly (I would have refunded anyway) £69.00.
So not only has he got the money back but I have a needless strike against my top seller logo, and the book has now in all likelyhood arrived after the Christmas lag. God! I could crush a grape......

I have had an issue as well (first on ebid) as detailed on another thread. Talk about the season of try-ons!
