I'm not saying PHP wasn't affected all through the network but PHP is available from alsorts of sources not just from PHP.

But like Ebid .... these problems are rectified as quick if not quicker than Ebid's solution.

All I saying is your at risk where ever you go on the net, basically it sounds like I have a problem with Anything Goes .... and as people who use it are suggesting not.

If peeps get problems over there then I am sure they will let me know in due course but at least they don't have to worry that if A.G gets hacked that their selling accounts are much safer.

I think if people have probs they are better off looking into there own machines for the problem rather than blaming other sites.

I remember Dave giving Charlie some grief over phone calls ..... when it came to it Dave now knows it wasn't .... easy to jump in with both feet before finding out for yourself 1st
We chose to use PHPNuke for our site and have Nuke Sentinel protecting it ... its a belting security system heheheh .... blocked over 300 IP's so far from trying to hack the site and also protects us from the santa worm thingy doodly whatsit

I think they've done a crackin job with this forum ... not an easy thing to do updating a forum specially so that members dont have to re-register. Fair play to Gaz & Mark

As for the good old email virus ..... one of my old yahoo email addies regularly gets 20 a day pmsl and they are all from businesses who have NO anti-cirus protection. Dozy pillocks!!! I just bin em as soon as they arrive ... can't shut the email addy down cos otherwise I have to shut down my yahoo group too but at least the mail is only downloaded via the net once a month.

Perhaps some people's systems are set up to not alert the user when they find/encounter a virus, who knows?

And it was Emma, one of your members, who first said she was getting alerts on your forum...

well i only used to get them on e bay and a few others did, but not had any on here at all and none on any other forums either and have been on 4 forums this morning so not sure what the problem is Would it be that peeps have not updated windows and stuff as when I forgot it kept popping up with *you have a virus* but when I did a virus check I did not have one.
Also sometimes when I reply to an e mail and the person is using AOL the same thing occurs and no virus at all so might it be an AOL problem again I wonder ?

2 years ago when I first installed norton system works on my machine it used to alert me every few seconds so I set the alert thingy only to alert me when it was something worth looking at.....i.e. something serious!

Now it will tell me about all serious trojans.......would that be set differently to yours then TracEy?

and Aps I know you installed norton on here hun but I then reinstalled my firewall thingy - would that start another year all over then? I'm sure I had a reminder from them about my subscription ages and ages ago..... but can't remember whether on old pc or new ????

oooo if it was on old pc and my reinstalling on new machine WILL give me another year then Yipppeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!

As for everything else I cannot be bothered with all this arsy stuff over the forums. My allegiance will always be with G&M as my business on Ebid is growing daily - I do however like the idea that I can also go elsewhere and chat about both ebid and espit alike and also separate rooms if you wanna swear and smilies and that just to relax - it's cool!!

But I still lurve kt and Ebid and always will.........

I'm not on AOL, and I only looked at the board once, does it really matter? My point was, is that PHP/PHPBB is still vulnerable...I just checked with my brother, and it seems so...

I am talking about php/phpBB here, not *just* Apollo's board.

which means that you are wondering why all this work has been done if our accounts are still at risk?

No, I was replying to Emma, when she said that she was getting viruses over on his board. I agreed. So did Christine. Then Apollo said there was no problem. I said that the KT had had a problem. Apollo said that there was no problem, otherwise the members would have told him, and eBid's problem was a server one. I asked my brother, he gave me an answer.

That's how I read it anyway.
