Thread: Time?

  1. #1

    Default Time?

    Gazza

When the clocks altered in October did you put yours forward instead of back? It seems that the UK is now 2 hours behind eBid. Time of this post is 10.43, check the posting time on eBid.

Posting time 10.43 as viewed here. I would check your own computer clock.

If you look right at the bottom of any eBid page, you will see what time eBid thinks it is. This time is only valid at the moment the page loads - it does not update as time marches relentlessly on.

There's a clock at the bottom of the page? How long has that been there?

Not a clock as such, but a time stamp of when the page was created as per eBid's server clock.

Have sorted. For some reason in my settings I was set to GMT+1. Rather odd as this only went wrong in October, just could not be bothered with looking into it until now. I never even knew you could alter the time. thought it was automatic on the site, so it is not something I have altered.

Do not be alarmed at this
Your battery may need to be replaced.
There is a small watch type battery in your motherboard.
Relatively easy to replace, it will last about 5+ years.
When it starts to lose power, your clock will start messing up.
Still do not be alarmed, check your computer owners manual for info.
Right click on your MY Computer Icon, select properties, that will give you some info as to
    whats in your machine

Not the battery as time was consistently out by 2 hours on both computers, it was the setting on eBid, not sure why it was wrong, I would have thought the default was your home country or time zone. Now that I know where it is I can reset if the gremlins get in again.

For forums it is on the Settings page: http://www.ebid.net/forums/profile.php?do=editoptions

I don't think there is one for the main site, it uses your computer clock for the listing countdown display and the eBid server elsewhere.
