I've sold a few books on Amazon in the past couple of months. By a few, I mean four.
They were easy sales, but the time that it takes to get my money is ridiculous. Unless you pay a $40.00 monthly fee, all of your sales money is on hold for a minimum of 14 days. They claim the reason that your money is held for so long is, "Failed Dispersment". Call the company for a reason behind the 'failed dispersment', and you get the run-around. Believe me. I've called several times, and have received very different answers each call, with no resolution in mind. Just one transfer after another, while listening to whatever advertisements they wanted to repeat, over and over, and over, and over, and... you get the idea.
My Thoughts... I think that Amazon uses your money, and instead of giving you a return, they charge you selling fees. Sure, you used their service to sell your book. If it weren't for them, you wouldn't have sold your book. But if a book takes 2-5 business days to arrive, Amazon shouldn't be allowed to use your money for 21 days, without giving you some compensation.
Bottom-Line: If you say that you'll give me the $20 that is mine tomorrow, give me the $20 that is mine tomorrow. If you said you would but you can't, give me some sort of interest when you do pay me. Amazon, you aren't my mother, my father or my brother; you are someone else trying to make money... You aren't going to make money off of me... Give me my money!
