Keen observation. Many of the successful sellers stand firm in their conviction that listing alot of items will increase your sales. Makes some sense. This is a UK venue; there are more UK sellers; and more of the successful sellers here do seem to come from the UK.

So, the big question is, are there any USA or other nation sellers, with large numbers of listings, selling successfully on eBid. I am aware of at least 1 USA seller, with large # of listings on eBid, who sells regularly (continually). So it can be done.

I've had 25 sales so far this month. That's not including 3 NPB as I don't consider it sold until it's paid and shipped.

Well, that is at least 2 successful sellers from the USA. Congratulations on your sales Pack, and many, many more!

This will not change my continued listing at eBid.
And it should not change your continued listing on eBid. Congratulations on your successful sales on the Bay! And many, many more to you. I'm a strong believer in sellers diversifying sales activity. A sale is a sale.

I do consider continually strengthening one's business activity on eBid a wise business decision though. As fees in this venue will assure a greater profit margin for the seller of " successful sales".

Was wondering is there was a logical way to look at the poll responses.

As of tonight, November 18, 2012 at 2151 EST, eBid has 1,120,058 members. There are 622 foum users, and a vast majority are invisible or guest users. Just looking at the number of users in here right now, approximately 5% of the total members are in the forums now.

Fourty eight (48) members responded to the poll; that is approximately 7-8% of the 622 users of the forums seen tonight. Now I do not know how to get an average number of users over the time frame of this poll.

But, is there a way to estimate, for example, for each person choosing to respond to the poll, how many members might hold same/similar view, opinion, or had same experience. Both forum users and members as a whole.

Still time for more poll responses.

OK. For any statitical wiz(s) out there. Any one keen at reading or interpreting bell shaped curves. There appears to be one towards the bottom of the poll. A bell shaped curve, also called the normal distribution, forms on polls and helps analyzing statistics easier.

    The curve's mean is set at zero; and has standard deviations of -1 -2 -3 0 +1 +2 +3

The curve would be drawn at those standard deviations (SD) with the highest point of curve at the zero mark.

There is the empiricle rule (the 68 - 95- 99.7 rule), that says:
*68% of the data will fall within 1 SD of the mean, in either direction
*95% of the data will fall within 2 SD of the mean, in either direction
*99.7% of the data will fall within 3 SD of the mean, in either direction

So, does anyone remember how to use that imformation, to look at the curves on the poll. Also, if you could comment on T-scores, z-scores, and standard scores, would be appreciated.

Thank you to all who participated in the poll, and for all who commented. Just wanted to make a few comments on some general observations. Seller experiences on eBid varied, so we can all see that sales are possible here, and some sellers sell quite well. On the other hand, many sellers are having a tough time with sales here. This could include no sales, few sales, or dealing with NPB's.

October was viewed by many respondents as having increases in sale activity. At least 56% of respondents reported successfully completed sales 70% or higher during October. A high percentage of responders reported early sales activity occurring in November. NPB were reported at an equal rate in October and November. However, the reported November NPB was early in November, and November is still in progress.

Most NPB activity was seen for BIN's. This confirms concerns voiced on various threads about NPB of BIN listings; and the request for immediate payment option for BIN listings.

Most respondents plan to increase their listings during November on eBid, as a result of their October sales levels. This should positively impact sales on eBid.

Several respondents (7) reported no sales activity to date on eBid. I suspect this number is higher. It was discussed earlier that sellers having positive sales experience may be more prone to report, than sellers having difficulties with sales.

I hope that the positive selling experiences will encourage other sellers on eBid. Sellers who sell well on eBid can serve as examples for making sales on eBid. Of course in the end, each seller needs to sell in a manner that is consistent with their goals.
