Thread: can't find listing in search engine

  1. #1

Default can't find listing in search engine

    Hello,
Sorry to start a "new" thread on this subject, or to sound redundant, but I have not received an answer as to why I cannot see some of my listings using the Google search engine (shopping also). And, sometimes, my listings show as "expired."

    Not showing, for ex.,:
SOLID18K GOLD NATURAL SAPPHIRES AND DIAMOND RING. RETRO (79649879 : Gallery Auction)
    or
ARTDECO FOUR NATURAL FACETED AMETHYSTS DANGLERS (78938212 : Gallery Auction)
    and again
Solid (unplated) 18K Yellow Gold oval hoops. Stamps and Perfect Condition (77558849 : Gallery Auction)
Although my store url shows sometimes

    Showing as expired:
Solid 18K Gold and Aquamarine Estate Ring. Hallmarks (77556900 : Gallery Auction)

Has there been any rule changes for posting to Google shopping recently that prevent you from posting my items? Am I doing something wrong?
    Thank you for your reply

I cannot find them either. Rather oddly when I search for the exact term "SOLID18K GOLD NATURAL SAPPHIRES AND DIAMOND RING" with the quotes round it this forum page shows but not the listing.

As far as I know it should at least show on a general Google search, for Google Shopping you have to follow the rules. Have you got an exemption for no Brand or UPC/EAN/MPC? For Google shopping this listing will not show as there are less than 3 days remaining.

On the listing mentioned you have no space after SOLID which will limit the hits. I would also recommend not having titles in all upper case characters, though these are changed by eBid.

If I have time I will try to investigate further, partly because it seems puzzling to me why your listing is not in a general search.

Thank you very much for your reply.
I will make the changes as per your recommendations but all my listings are used items (estate and antique) without any UPC/LEAN/MPC references! How would I go around getting exemption from Google? Would that mean that they would finally show?
Some of my items are showing as expired!
In other words, at this time, none of my listings are on google search engine. Rather depressing after having worked so long to set it up. I've even gone as far as starting a item anew with using the repost function, hoping that would help. Thanks for your help! I appreciate it very much

They take time to get there. Longer listings have a better chance of making it there before they are expired.

Thanks! I'll remember to extend the date...
I'm glad that, at least, this one showed up. But it is a repost from a while back.
    Thanks

Thanks. I'll request an exemption, even though none of my stuff is new

I requested an exemption for my vintage jewelry store; eBid helped me through the process when I e mailed them about it.

Second Terry, longer listings have a better chance of making it into Google shopping, also items with BIN prices.

Best wishes for many sales to all,

    Hi,
Well, I'd followed all suggestions above, i.e.,
    1) extended duration on all my listings
    2) verified that all titles were in small cap (rather than capital letters)
    3) requested google's exemption for my antiques and estate jewelry (nothing is new)

    That was two days ago.
So, when and how will I know that exemption has been granted? Will I get an email?
As far as I can tell, there has not been an increase in traffic on my site.
Thank you all for your help

Go to your My eBid Stores > Choose Store to Configure (top right)
Once chosen, go to the eBid Store Summary and check for a GSID number with exemption date see image below

It may take a few days to be inserted, I waited about a week for mine
