Back in the 70s I worked at an Amusement Park. Yes a Carnie, I ran the Hi-Striker booth in which you used a wooden sledge hammer to "ring the bell".
I offered ine chance for twenty five cents or three for a dollar. 90% went with the three for a dollar.
