Default IE and Auto complete brands on listing form.

    Hi everyone,

got a little problem I'm in need of a bit of help with... It relates to the "brand" field on the listing form.

I'm using IE9 on a 64bit install of Windows 7 Professional and when I use the mouse and mouse button to select a brand it is not populating the box. However using the keyboard cursor keys and Enter key it does work ok as you can see in the screencast below.

    http://screencast.com/t/QhYgRxwqTBb

I've tested other browsers and other IE versions and OS's and it seems to be ok. I'm not sure if it is only IE9 and 64bit Windows? Maybe the problem is only Windows 7 Professional?

I'd appreciate others testing the system and let me know if it is working ok for them or not. Also what browser, version and OS you are using.

You can find the properties of your OS via Start > Computer > System Properties in Windows 7 , see http://screencast.com/t/AFIw2CudP0 for an example.

Let me know if the mouse method works or doesn't for you...

    Many Thanks,
    Gazza

The Ajax dropdown works fine for me on Windows 7 64 bit on browsers Firefox, Chrome and IE8

And fine on Windows XP 32bit OS on browsers Firefox, Chrome and IE7

Anyone here have Windows 7 64bit with internet explorer 9 to test ?

Works fine on my system, no problems at all. Which is surprising really considering it's so out dated!

    OS: Mac OS X 10.4.11
    Browser: Safari 4.1.3

    Using IE9, Win 7 Home edition, 64bit

    Populating works fine here.

Tested IE9 (64 bit), Opera, Firefox, Safari, and Chrome (all to latest update) on Win7 Professional 64 bit SP1 (and latest updates).

All OK apart from IE9 which, as you say, ignores mouse selection from the auto-complete Brand drop-down.

The 32 bit version of IE9 exhibits the same problem.

Drop down appears but doesn't populate until I start typing a few letters, then it offers one suggestion and populates. Of course my 'puter is a little slow this morning, so maybe that's it.

    Using IE9 and Windows Vista.

Best wishes for many sales to all,

Great work everyone... Seems to be quite a random problem then... We are working on a couple of possibilities, hope to have the bug squashed later.

    Thx,
