The sci-fi books of the past are coming true, I remember reading lots of books about mining for gold, and other resources on distant asteroids and planets.

Anything written is likely to come true - eventually. The universe (and beyond) is capable of playing out any and all possibilities over time.

I was going to add 'as long as it does not break the laws of physics', but doubt the universe cares one jot for those; if it feels like breaking them...then it will.
