    Default Descriptions cut off halfway

I am working through revising listings after I found that on quite a few, in all categories, the descriptions have been cut off half way, or are missing entirely. I am not sure when this happened, some were NL imports from the other site, some were direct listings made here.

( no external links, mentions of the other site, or anything else inappropriate).

Not too thrilled as over the next while when I have spare time I have to work through all of my listings and check them. So far I have got through everything except the books/ magazines but that is still a lot to do.

    How old were the listings?

The use of the @ character anywhere in a description can cause problems with whole sections going missing. This is a bug in eBid's email address filter that they have never fixed.

There was also the 'International Characters' debacle a while back (I can't remember exactly when without trawling the archives) which blew away many people's listing descriptions. It was very badly handled by eBid at the time (they, basically, ran away and hid) and, I don't doubt, many listings from that time still exist on the site in a damaged state.

As always, example ids of affected listings would help.

Can you work out exactly where/what it has cut off?
Have you used any unusual non standard characters in any of the descriptions?

I had this problem after one of the updates some months back
the editor didn't like the use of the ae ligature as copied & pasted into the description,
    it wanted the proper html.
It has always done this if you use @
