Hotel GB - Superb TV prog on Channel 4

I want a job at Hotel GB. My problem would be which department to go for - food, reception, front of house or chambermaid.

I am amazed that the guy who applied for a job - recovering alcoholic - didn't get a placement though.

As for the girl that lasted 5 hours! Obviously had too little sleep and preferred to do other things rather than work.

I worked in hotels for years, both in holiday resorts over here here and also in the Channel Islands, nearly always living in too. oh the stories I could tell!
It was very hard work though, you didn't have all the rules and regulations they have now with work hours etc. We could easily and often did work 12 hours a day and, also there were weeks when never had a day off either, the money wasn't great, but the tips were, (managment didnt nick them then either) food and board paid for (some places better than others there) and oh boy did we play hard too!

many moons ago i was a red coat at butlins in north wales done 4 seasons absolutely loved it and yes money was carp but boy did we enjoy our selves
